L/O: To identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes & conversations.


Masthead- A masthead is the heading on the top of the cover for the name of the owner/company.There are normally on the left side of the magazine.

Dateline- The dateline is when the writer reported or published the magazine often with the prise . Datelines are traditionally placed on the first line of the text of the article, before the first sentence.

Main Image- Is to draw attention to people to buy the magazine.Normally covers most of the page and is a major celebrity.

 Cover Line- is like a subheading for the magazine. The  cover line is smaller than the masthead but larger than the other cover lines they go around the main image.

Main cover Line- This is usually very large and promotes the main image features will be. It usually coincides with the main image they go a bit over the main image to give you a hint that it's the main cover line.

Barcode/Prise- barcodes are placed on the book's reverse cover on the lower right area.

Tagline -As a variant of a branding slogantagline can be used in marketing materials and advertising. 

Pull Quotes-Most usual placement of pull-quotes are inside the body copy.Pull quotes are short excerpts from the presented text. They are used to pull a text passage out of the reader's flow and give it a more dominant position in the post or the article.
























-they use mid shots

-serious with a small smile  

-they have makeup on 

-they show there style in cloths/hair/makeup

-some fashion magazines are long shots to show off there body shape or dress.

small details-

1. They used  different fonts for the magazine.

2.the cover lines are made to look different because of there reason on the magazine. Eg: main cover line. 

3.the cover are block caps.

4.the cover line is angular.

5.they are on the side at the top and at the bottom.
